John Obi Mikel, one of the Chelsea midfielder, is vying for the prestigious award with the Ivorian pair of Yaya Toure, of English Premier League rivals Manchester City, and Didier Drogba, from Turkish club Galatasaray.
Mikel told AFP through the phone from London, that "It is an honor to be selected and nominated for the award and he is also glad to be selected and he also say that his target was to work great on Nigeria my country more than this and he will do the same in Nigeria. He also told them that he is looking forward ahead to winning it for my country," Mikel, who has twice been voted Africa's best young player.
Mikel Obi who is 26-year-old has also help Nigerian in many winning and Nigerian is very grateful for mikel ability and hard work for Nigerian and Mikel Obi is the Nigerian is one of the Nigerian who have made Nigerian a proud country and mikel has done a lot and he also said he will more for My country and he has also helped Nigeria win a third Africa Cup of Nations in February last year and also in November he qualify for a fifth World Cup finals.

He also added that he plans a whistle-stop visit to Nigeria's financial capital, Lagos, for Thursday evening's awards.
He also told the AFP that "He is coming for the CAF awards. I will be hover in and out of Nigeria by the Chelsea jet. He also disclosed he will arrive on the awards day and return immediately after."
The club Chelsea, are currently third in the English Premier League behind Arsenal and Manchester City, are away to Hull City on Saturday.
