9 consecutive Christchurch schools are ready to close their doors for the
final time in the next few days, as one of rules and regulation of the Ministry of Education's
post-quake shake up.
Kendal School also had a closing ceremony this morning as the final time in the next weak.
Board trustee Matthew Button also says that the school's closure will be announced and aware of the whole community, and not just that the people who go there but we have a clearly mourned by the whole community.
He also said that it is sad and it disappointing and If we are thinking about the young people where they are going next year, and trying to understand that we want our children to respond well and further their success in future.
Another trustee, Katherine Deacon, says there has been confusion throughout the process with the Ministry of Education.but the whole community have feel an intensive sorrow in the loss of a school.
"The ministry will always as He continued and say one thing one way and this is how is going to be done, and we as the board we will make a definite decision.
And Then the next week they will say that is not the case so theirs no conclusion on that if it perhaps to continued He said, so we've gotten the indefinite information."
However, she concluded today is about celebrating.
"We have finally got the biggest candles
which represent Kendal School, and the smaller candles for the
receiving schools.
"The story for the children continued If they are taking a little piece of Kendal with them."
Principal Keith Turner said at the closing ceremony about what if he wants the students to proceed. He also believed that it is the learning, attitudes, knowledge that what they have learned From here and that if what I want them to take to the new school, and with that it will be more benefit to them, as he concluded that is the main option for the way forward.
"Next year, He will proceed an Imitate Building of the School neither will I miss the school equipment. and He also said that but am very sure am going to miss talented and loving people at the school," The Principal said.
Manning Intermediate is another another option to close its doors one last time in the coming days. Principal Richard Chambers also says staff, family, and students are working in hand to make the best of the situation and more ac-knowledgeable.
"I don't think the changes to the school system are well normal , but It's what we've got.
"We have got to work with that to ensure that the children get the best and also, and our aims is to get the best we can for the children of this community and ensure they get the brighter future.''
